Counseling

Life is a journey. At times that journey is not as smooth as we hope. During those times when life stressors test people’s ability to cope, counseling may be helpful. I provide cognitive-behavioral, short-term, solution focused counseling in an in-person format. This short-term approach includes a collaborative agreement on treatment goals and activities and exercises designed for a client to work towards their goals, as we focus on your strengths and solutions. While I conceptualize issues using the cognitive behavior theory, I can be eclectic in intervention by using techniques from other theories (i.e., person-centered theory), with the focus still on working towards solutions.

I specialize in offering individual counseling for women ages 23 to 65 using this solution-focused approach related to the following issues:

  • Adjustment to New Situations
  • Anxiety (Situational)
  • Depression (Situational)
  • Grief/Loss
  • Stress
  • Life Transitions

In addition to clinical skills, I am a Christian, and I have training in biblical counseling. I don’t impose my values or beliefs on any client; however, if you would benefit from my knowledge and skill in the area of biblical counseling and would like for me to add this to my interventions with you, please let me know, as it is only available upon request.
